Postbridge Clapper Bridge, Postbridge, Dartmoor National Park

Perhaps Dartmoor's most famous and most visited clapper bridge, the Postbridge Clapper Bridge spans the East Dart River in the heart of Dartmoor National Park close to Bellever Forest and Bellever Tor.

The B3212 cuts across Dartmoor from Moretonhampstead to Princetown. At Postbridge, the road bridges the East Dart River. About ten metres down river is the clapper bridge.

We've positioned Postbridge Clapper Bridge on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. To visit, head for the large car park by Postbridge National Park Visitor Centre. It's a short walk down the road to the clapper bridge.

Postbridge Stores is near the clapper bridge. Grab an ice cream or cream tea.

For local walks, we'd recommend the Bellever Tor & Forest Circular Walk. If you fancy a challenging walk, head to the remote Cut Hill and Fur Tor. The views are big and magnificent.

Other clapper bridges include Huntingdon Clapper Bridge and Teign-e-ver Clapper Bridge.
