Major Dartmoor river that flows through the Teign Gorge and Teign Valley on its way to Teignmouth and the sea.
Teign Head is just south of one of Dartmoor's highest summits, Hangingstone Hill. From Teign Head, the river forms the North Teign River before it meets the South Teign River in the Chagford area to create the River Teign.
Interesting attractions around the River Teign in Dartmoor include Teign-e-ver Clapper Bridge and the Granite Song Sculpture, River Teign, Castle Drogo and Fingle Bridge.
